Veterans' Foundation supporters have helped to provide a £30,000 grant which will deliver life-changing support for veterans struggling with their mental health.
Combat Stress has received the £30,000 award from the Veterans’ Foundation to help fund their UK-wide specialist services for British veterans in need.
On average, 73% of veterans who undertake treatment through Combat Stress recover.
This is an incredible impact and significantly above the recovery rate for PTSD of other mental health services.
Chloe Mackay,CEO of Combat Stress, said: "PTSD does not go away on its own, it requires specialist treatment and support from those with knowledge and understanding of what veterans have experienced.
“We have the most successful treatment outcomes in the UK, and thanks to funding from the Veterans' Foundation, we can continue to change the lives of those who turn to us for help.”
Jane Gurney, CEO of The Veterans’ Foundation, added: “We are proud to be supporting Combat Stress, the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health, to ensure that former service personnel are able to access and receive the expert care they need to manage the psychological impact of their military service."
This news comes as the Veterans' Foundation has committed to providing £6 million a year to mental health projects under the banner of 'Operation Lifeline'.
